Oh how we miss Dr Jane Goodall! Did you know she was an April baby? To mark her birthday, here’s a reminder of her work as a remarkable role-model and advocate for the natural world. In fact, when researching this small note in honour of Dr Jane, it was heart-warming to see the global outpour of love and recognition of her career.

 

🐒 We remember Dr Goodall for:

  • Inspiring harmonious and sustainable relationships between people, animals and the natural world.
  • Ground-breaking studies of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania & discovering their use of tools.
  • Jane was the first to prove that true friendship could be formed between a scientist and a great ape living in its natural habitat.

 

🐒 Jane Globally advocated for:

  • Animal welfare and human rights, as well as youth empowerment via her ‘Roots & Shoots’ Programme.
  • Never shying away from using her voice to defend the environment.
  • Breaking societal norms when she broke the mould as a bold female scientist in the 60’s.
  • Activism to free chimpanzees kept in captivity.

  • Action against climate change and awakening millions of hearts to her cause in the process.
